Default Navigation Screen Msg

My 2010 IS 350 has a msg on the nav screen saying to contact the dealer & also defaults back to the map view.
Does this simply mean my map program is outdated? I don't care to update it, but how do I get the screen to stay where I leave it?

Did you get message "the program cannot be read, please consult your dealer"?
As for the question about the screen stay on whit the mode you wanted. You could change it under setting by turn off "switch to Nav"

Does the map screen look normal and move about as you drive? The see dealer
message could refer to a malfunction of the Hard drive that the Nav info is stored on.
Unlike a Garmin the Lexus Nav will not notify you that it is "outdated".

The setting change you want is "Auto Screen Change", turn it off as whitebeast noted.

Perhaps its as simple as someone set a maintenance interval?

Please take a photo at start up.
