200k miles too much on 2006 is350?
Hello everyone,
I have been looking around for an IS and stumbled on a 2006 is350 with 193kmiles. Seller is asking for 5800 but I’m hoping he will accept a lower offer. I plan on keeping the car for a while and will be driving it until the wheels fall off. Do you guys think 193k miles is too much and will it last me another 5-10 years or another 100k miles. I know Lexus is reliable and will last a long time if maintained. I haven’t gotten a chance to look at the car yet but was trying to see how you guys feel about a car with this much miles before I decide to move forward with this one.
Thanks!

If it is your own car with 200k miles, it is great and could probably go another 100k miles.
It is not worth it to buy a car from somebody with 200k miles for 5,800

I'm the original owner of my 06 IS350. It has 228,000 miles on it. I've taken care of the car since it was new. I would never purchase my own car. With so many miles something big is going to go. My biggest fear is the transmission going out (drives fine and never changed the fluid). Unless your ok with the possibility of a major repair, don't get it. Look from something with around 100,000 miles.

Unless it was a couple hundred bucks I wouldn't even bother, not that I know anything is going to go wrong but at that point I think you're on the last stretch of life with it. I would like to think that every Lexus could go a million miles but I don't think it's very likely. I personally wouldn't buy any pre-owned car with more than 120,000kms let alone 200,000 miles. I'd suggest saving some money up for a lower mileage one.

If you can get it for half that price (3000), I'd say go for it.
It's cheap enough that you can tinker on stuff as they break and not worry about how much you have invested into it.
