Hi CL
On one of my recent trip the cruise control works on the way to the destination but doesn't work on the way back.
When I hit the cruise switch at the end of the stalk, the cruise light come on.
When I try to set speed, it doesn't maintain and just slow down when I let go of gas.
My car is 2008 IS350 non-nav.
I was trying to search the forum but I still have some questions.
1. How do I check if it is the brake switch causing problem? If the brake light comes on when I hit the brake, does it mean that it is not the problem? Or is there a second switch/two separate switch module in brake switch for cruise control?
2. I saw someone talk about checking fuses. Which fuse should I check?
3. I read someone talk about a cruise control self check on an RX(?). Does our IS have the same function? If yes, how do I check?
4. If I have a bluetooth OBD and torque pro, will I be able to see an error code?
Thanks in advance

So you enabled cruise and the Green cruise light comes on and is NOT flashing. You're at say 60mph and press down on the stalk (set) and cruise does not engage?
You must be in 4th gear or higher and above 25mph, and not have a MIL/CEL code present. That said the cruise light would likely flash if unable to do its job. Does it?

My speed was at 100km/h. Tried from range of 80-120 km/h. I have no MIL/CEL. Cruise light doesn't flash when fail to set.

anyone?
I confirmed the brake light still comes on when I press the brake pedal.
I have also checked the fuse boxes briefly but I dont see any obvious blown fuse.
I dont want to just throw parts at it and see what works.
