Spec-D Headlight question
I found the bulbs for the low beam which the headlights come with to be very dim and want something a little more bright.
I am considering doing LED headlight bulbs for my lowbeams and I believe the fitment is H1.
Just curious if this would require any custom work or if its just plug and play. Also, anyone know any good led bulbs?

Lowbeams are H7 and high beams are H1.
Bulbs are typically plug and play but usually have fans/ballasts/fins to account for when fitting them under the cover. I'd advise to go HID over LED, as I've personally had difficulty fitting the actively cooled (active fan) under the cover, you could try the passively cooled bulbs with fins but im not sure if there's enough ventilation inside the housing to cool the fins. I've tried GTR lighting Gen 2 bulbs and they were pretty dim as LED bulbs don't really work that well in halogen projectors. There are GTR lighting Gen 3s which are supposed to be really good but I haven't tested them. Xenon Depot also makes good bulbs as well. HID kits are well documented to have great output and there are even youtube tutorials by Spec D on how to install HID bulbs into the housing and drilling the necessary hole in the cover to route the ballasts etc.
Best of luck

HID will be brighter, and appear to be "better" but it won't throw the light as far or as wide as a projector designed for hid. I had a xenon depot kit on my car for about 6 + years, but when the bulbs finally died I went with sylvania sylver stars and honestly i'm not missing much.
