My sister;s 210 IS 250AWD just cae back frim the shoo and they are quoting $2,500 for y pipe replacement. I there any aftermarket exhaust I can buy for the awd IS that replaces the y pipe? All i find are for rwd model. This is not my car so i apologize if this is an obvious thing, thank you

There is now Y pipe for the AWD at the moment. Why not just go to a local muffler shop and get it replaced? It will probably be in the $100-$250 range depending on the work needed done.

If it was my car I would know the answer to that. It's my sister's so I want it to be just like new. The y pipe is the two pipes that run into the y pipe with the exhaust mufflers, correct? I'm just looking for the fastest fix for her. Are the cats off the headers on these cars or inline on the y pipes? Any help would be hige

Unfortunately, there is virtually no support for the AWD model in exhaust options. I believe Wagner or Davico manufacture a midpipe section for the AWD. It is meant to be a stock replacement and will have to be welded in place. There is no aftermarket performance midpipe available for the AWD. You cannot use a RWD midpipe section as it will not fit properly and isn't worth the cost to try and modify it to fit. I had my local muffler shop install new pipes from both manifolds to the mufflers, including the Y-pipe section for $400. They did not re-install the resonators, but I have not had any negative side effects. The manifolds (headers) have catalytic converters built into them. There are resonators in the midpipes and I believe another cat after the Y-pipe. Hope that helps!

The cat's are part of the manifolds, the Y pipe (mid section), and last the rear section to the mufflers. Which one do you need?

The Y pipe might be available on eBay. A decent used one just get new OEM gaskets.

The dealer said y pipe. I would just feel better if I knew what pipes had cats in them as that really the only thing that costs money. Also thank you all for responding. All info is very helpful in trying to fix this for her

Never trust the Stealership! My boss just went in for an oil change on his old ES330 today. They are stating that he needs a new steering rack, because the fluid looks dirty. To the tune of $6K including brake flush, new transmission pan gasket. Filters and what not.

Take her car for a second opinion of what really needs fixing. To a local muffler shop, and let them look it over.

Great advice. I will do that then once she gets the car back. She just wanted immediately costs estimates but I'll tell her to wait. Thank you

Y pipe? So the midpipe? No there aren't any mid pipes for our AWDs. What's wrong the with it if you don't mind me asking? Secondary cats failing? Cheapest option would be to just get a shop to weld in a straight pipe.

Sadly I can't tell you the exact problem. Sister took it into the dearlership and they were the ones to diagnosis it. I'll get under the car when she gets it back to look. It sound like the pipe rusted off and the dealer is calling it The y pipe for whatever reason

Is the car louder? A hole in the exhaust will generally make it louder. So maybe they’re full of crap. 4 cats : two on the manifolds , two in the mid section if the exhaust.
