Default 11-13 headlight "computer"

My car is a 2006. I am purchasing a set of oem headlights off a 2012. The seller is not including the hid bulbs or "computer". I wanted to make sure there isn't more than a ballast and bulb on these lights. Will the lights be missing the "computer" and not be able to aim? Or can I just put a hid kit in these lights and expect them to aim property? Thank you!

The computer being referred to is the ballast.

As far as auto-levelling, that is something only cars with factory HID have. Older models will still level the 11-13 lights correctly, however the lack of an AFS motor will cause a warning on the dash.

81107-53501 Is the PN you need and pick a D4S bulb of your choice.
I tossed in some 5500k Morimoto XB bulbs. 9mo and all is well.

FWIW.... the PN also reflects this interchange # KDLT003, DDLT003 which powers either D2 or D4 HID bulbs...
I wrote the retrofitsource and that's what they said.

TRS has those Denso replacement KDLT003, DDLT003 that @2013Fsport is referring to for cheap, $65 for a universal ballasts that can run D4 and D2. Plus its supposed to be OE quality. The ability to run D4 or D2 is worth it. Lots of better and cheaper D2S bulb options.

Default Appreciated

Ok, sinister.! Thank you. I'm making sure that they screw in to the bogtbo of the headlights, as if they're oem.. Toyota/Lexus places their ballasts into a sort of black housing, that is shaped to the bottom of the headlights

Default Example?

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-parts/hid-ballasts-oem/oe-replacement-denso-ddlt003.html

Are you referring to these?

Do you know there are other pieces , aside from bulbs to make these work? It looks as though they have the housing around them.

they will bolt on but the bulb harness needs to be disassembled to fit thru the projector on HL. This has to be done for all ballast on this light. There is a video on the 2011+ change out thread.

That is only true for 2006-2010 HID lights. The ballasts are easily removed and installed on the 2011-13 lights he is looking at buying.

That explains why there are so many unloaded aftermarket and used ones out there. The 2006-2010 HID AFS all usually sold loaded with ballasts, even aftermarket.

It is also the way Lexus sells them. 2006-2010 lights come with ballast, 2011-2013 lights do not.
