255 tyre on 8J wheel
I have a "small" problem.
I just bought 4 (ALU) wheels in dimension 8Jx18".
I know that Lexus advice that for rear wheel I have to use tyre 255/40/18 on 8,5j wheel.
My question is: may I have put 255/40/18 tyre on 8J wheel?
As you know, front wheel isnt problem (225/40/18), but, I am not sure for rear wheel.
I also know that tyre (wide 255) "need" 8,5J wheel.
Or?...
P.S. Car is is250 (2009.)
P.P.S. there is no any option so I can buy 8,5J wheel (for rear wheel).
Tnx

@flowrider,
I realise that.
But I wonder, what will happen if put 255 wide tyre on 8J wheel?
By the calculation, 255 wide tyre will be 1/2 cm (0,2") the wider on each side than 245 wide tyre (which is max. wide tyre for 8J wheel-recommended by the manufacter)...
