Default trying to fix dent

What is the best way to fix this dent?

Thought about pushing it from inside-out but there's like a sponge thing that is in the way. Can I just remove the sponge part and put back in once I'm done pushing out the dent?

Yes you will need to bang it out with a hammer or similar tool and once you have it roughly back to shape fill the rest with bondo....preferably take it to a shop and have them fill and refinish it. Total job shouldn't cost more than $500-600 to have done professionally. If you were on the East Coast I'd do it (w/paint and CC) for $300.

You can remove the liner, the hood is aluminum though, it is not easy to bang out that big of a dent. You may need to use a torch.

You may want to ask a PDR (paintless dent removal) guy if he thinks he can fix it. PDR is usually quite inexpensive (e.g., about $75 for a panel), and the results often amazing.

The inner structural panel will prevent that as they both need pulled at the same time to get the desired results. Its not something that will look well if done at home.

What are you expecting as a finished product? If banging out with a hammer is good enough, good luck as it's too much detail to list the right way to fix and it'sits unlikely you have the tools needed to do it so....

Source a used hood of proper color?

That would be a candidate for a replacement hood. Doubt a PDR guy would touch it, knowing it's aluminum and with all of the under-structure in the way.

CF hood to replace it?
