Default Thoughts/Concern on purchasing 2011 F-Sport

Hi,

So, I may test drive a 2011 F sport with low miles, but I have a concern. The car is on a used sales lot and they seem to have good looking cars, but I noticed its been there for over 6 months and still hasnt sold. Now, the asking price is on the higher end, but not too much as i'm sure I can negotiate and especially knowing its been sitting for so long I think they would want to sell asap. Why would this car be sitting so long without a sale? You think its the asking price? Is the F sport package not popular? The carfax shows a very clean title, no accidents, 1 owner with services at lexus dealership only. Have any of you had similar experience buying from a used car lot? I've owned my 1st gen 300 for 14yrs and looking to finally upgrade. Thanks guys!

a lot of factors could be the reason. Maybe everyone hates the sales guy, maybe there's more to the story of the car, maybe it's just chance it hasn't moved, maybe the area doesn't really care for older Japanese luxury cars etc. Just go see it for yourself and make a judgement. You can ask the guy why it hasn't sold when you're there as well. Maybe they are looking for a cash deal instead of someone trying to finance it etc.

Yeah, im coming up with a lot of reasons as well. I'm definitely going to test drive and look for any mechanical issues. Could very well be the salesman with the problem too and not budging on price. Thanks Aspect!

350 or no?
Gawd I wish I could stumble upon a clean low mile 2014 IS-F!
The 350 simply needs more punch but bolt ons don't get it close to the V8.

Where abouts are you and what's the listed price?

interesting read. Im in Socal.
Took the 350 for a test drive and I did like it. Smooth ride and did not hear nor feel any problems. Now the real problem was the used car lot. Listed price was $23k. 2011 IS350 F Sport, 61K miles. Headlights needed to be cleaned and restored. Rear trunk lip needed repaint as the clear coat seemed to be coming off. Needed new tires. Mainly, cosmetic issues. However, this used lot came at me with all kinds of fees they pass on to the buyer. The price went from $23k - $26500. They barely budged on the price and fees. Would not go any lower than $23k. Car has been sitting there for over 7 months and now I know why. Oh well, I will keep searching.

Yea that’s sounds too much for a 7 year old car that’s not a 10/10 condition.

My 2013 was a tooth and nail fight (51,000 mi), grabbed it last July. But I got them to pay for tires, headlight ballasts, and bulbs.
Ultimately it was the worst buying experience of any purchase in my life. Talk about a screwed up mess. Oh, but I'm happy w the 350... other than the PO wasn't to careful with the finish. 96% of the scratches buffed out.
