Question Front suspension bushings?

Hey all, my front suspension has been creaking while making right turns under braking, and I've come to believe the cause is one of the suspension bushings. On visual inspection, I particularly suspect the front sway bar bushing. I intend to replace all of the front suspension bushings with upgraded/stiffer ones, but have 2 questions:

1. What replaceable bushings do we have? I see "Sway bar bushing" (
https://www.amazon.com/Moog-K200621-Sway-Bar-Bushing/dp/B00CE3OQ8I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1526478888&sr=8-4&keywords=is250+bushing) https://www.amazon.com/Moog-K200621-Sway-Bar-Bushing/dp/B00CE3OQ8I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1526478888&sr=8-4&keywords=is250+bushing)
and "Lower Control arm bushing" (
Amazon Amazon
). Shouldn't there be another?

2. Which stiffer bushings (preferably polyurethane) would be a direct replacement for each of these? I've seen some mention of IS-F ones but believe those are rubber.

In general you can feel better handling, more reactive front end suspension, sharp ride, but you pay in comfort and extra noises. Lot of guys here have squeaks, even with constant greasing.
Add harder springs and low profile tires and you may end up with uncomfortable car to drive.

This is great info! Have you also bought from them before? If so, how's the price/quality?

Don't plan on modifying the suspension setup any other way, so I figure a little extra bushing stiffness would be a pleasant tweak. As for the guys with constant squeaks - are they using a specific brand?

The quality is good it's SuperPro bushings. They sell mostly name brand bushings.

I have some stock RWD front sway bushings. I started to modify them for my 28.6mm. Then I just went with the OEM F sport bushings that come with the bars.

They won't hinder performance as long as you have prothane grease. You can have them just pay shipping.

I paid around $42 shipped from the website listed. They are SuperPro bushings. Only one is half **** started modified. The other one is untouched. These are for the front OEM 27.2 mm sway bar RWD.

Hey I might just take you up on that! So your modification attempt was the gouging visible in the pics? How far into the bushing does it go?

Would I be applying the Prothane grease as normal, or elsewhere due to the modification?

The gouging is what you see. It will never make contact with the bar. Once over the bar it will function the same. Apply prothane grease, or equivalent.

I did the same mod for my stock OEM bar 26.5mm. I used the 24mm bushings and opened them up to close over my bar. It was very smooth once finished. Since they don't offer poly bushings in that size for the 2IS.

You shouldn't have problems with these as they still have the grease retaining mold inside.

Even with my OCD for my car. I can live with .09" gouging on one edge. See pics below. Offer stands just pay me the shipping fee, or anyone interested in the lower 48 states only. I've had these in my office drawer for months.

Just installed them today, and what a difference! The sound is back down to normal/acceptable levels, and there's been a definite improvement in front end composure under cornering and on rough roads. Then again, you can see how trashed my old ones were.

Huge shout out to Mike for the bushings and installation tips - great guy to work with!

I would get the matching bushings for the rear bar. It does quite a bit too. With out upgrading the sway bars them selves.

Definitely tempted to now. Time to check if the rears are worn enough to justify tossing them.

Figs Engineering does sell both front, and rear bushings for OEM, or Aftermarket bars. Except they don't carry the Stock AWD front size. They're cheaper to get from them, and Super Fast shipping too! Make sure to select the correct size in the drop down menu.

About to pull the trigger on some SuperPro rears from that link - do you know what the correct rear bushing size for my stock IS250 RWD is? Seems to be some ambiguity between 17mm and 19mm.
