Suspension, Wheel, Tire Fitment Questions
This is my first post on the forum! Currently I have a 2012 Lexus IS250 RWD on stock wheels and tire set up. I plan on going with the BC Racing Coilovers BR Type. As for wheels I am looking at the ESR SR07. I am looking at the 17' option and wanted to know if I can go with a 8.5' or 9.5' wheel. There are two option for me: 17x8.5 +30 or 17x9.5 + 20. I wanted to know which one will give me the best fitment! I was thinking to run the 8.5' up front and the 9.5' in the rear let me know if im wrong. I just need everyones opinion! Thank you for everyones help!

agreed, 17s are too small. 18s at the minimum as they come factory for most upper ended models.
also keep in mind fitment also depends on how you are lowered (slammed or mild), and tire sizing. there are a lot of variations to consider.
17s you will need to be considerably low to get it right (IMHO) and 8.5 +30 and 9.5 +20 would most likely necessitate fender modding depending on tire sizes and ride height.
for tire sizing, get as close to the stock tire outer diameter as possible for least amount of speedometer error.

I plan on using the stock 245/45/17 tires in the rear and the stock 225/45/17 tires in the front and just mount the wheels to them. So I am staying stock when it comes to tires. As for ride height I plan on being at a mild height. Like a 2' drop in the back and a 1.5' drop in the front. I was talking to a shop that specializes in suspension, wheels, tires, and they said I could fit 9.5 +20 in the rear and the 8.5 +30 in the front. Does that sound correct?
