ML subwoofer issues
Hi guys,
not sure im posting in the right spot but here goes anyway,
I have a 2013 lexus is250 f sport with the ML premium audio, a couple of months ago my subby started rattling and flapping something fierce, especially in heavy bass songs. I took it back to lexus recently since i still have warranty and they advised me the sub needed to be replaced. I kind of thought the sub sounded fine and some other factor had been causing the rattles but i went with it anyway because it was free.
They gave the car back to me with a brand new ML sub and first thing i noticed as i fired up some of my favorite songs is that the bass, in the whole car, was much much weaker. the settings are set exactly as i had them before, volume at 40 as i always listen, and it is at least 60% weaker then my old sub. I then tried to turn the bass up in settings, and bang the rattling is back again and the sub sounds like its also bottoming out. I have taken the car back to lexus and they have just offered to replace the sub again. I am just wondering if any more experienced people here can offer some advise on what i should do or what the issue could be and why my car lost so much bass with the speaker replacement.
I am also curious about installing an aftermarket sub in the car if lexus is unable to resolve my issue, what is the best sub to go with this sound system and is it possible
Thanks

An immediate failure is not normal; but yes these ML subs are known to be faulty. Most are without a warranty and just replace the factory sub with an aftermarket setup. But I'd say that as long as you have that warranty, use it! I hope they give you a loaner for all your troubles.
