So last night I was fixing the common issue of the vanity mirror lights never working and used this thread as a reference https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...urning-on.html. It worked for my drivers side mirror but not for the passenger side. I decided to unplug the light and turn it around incase it was plugged in incorrectly and upon doing so the light immediately came on. The problem is when the slider in the mirror is open and closed the light stays on. The light also stays on when the mirror is pulled out of the visor which has me confused. The thread says that the light turns on when the plastic slider makes contact with something inside the visor so the fact that the light stays on even when I pull the slider out of the visor has me stumped. Any thoughts on how to fix this? I'm not trying to take it to the dealer since my cars out of warranty.

Are use sure the prong is still not making contact somewhere. It's probably grounding to something.

I’m not entirely sure because I can’t really see into the inside of the visor but I tried sticking a trim remover tool in there and when it makes contact with the prong or whatever is in there the light shuts off but when I pull the tool out the light goes back on. I tried moving it around inside the visor to possibly losses up whatever could be making contact with it but haven’t had any luck so far.
