Default Shop put 255 tires up front and 225 in the back...

I had some inspections on my car and had them rotate and balance tires on my 2012 is250 RWD .

I have staggered 18" rims. 225 40r18 in front and 255 40r18 in rear.

I just get home and noticed they rotated tires like I asked but they put the 255 on the front and 225 on the rear.... Is this bad for my car??

you're going to have to take that back to the shop and have them fix that. the 255s should stay in the rear on the wider rim

Have them rotate them back? The 255's in the front will rub. When I bought mine from a Lexus dealer, they put new tires on it yet the goofball who installed them had the 255's on the front and it rubbed for a while (luckily, they replaced the two tires).

Staggered can't really be rotated. Maybe side to side if they're not directional. Honestly, as long as your alignment is fine, these cars really don't have issues with the tires wearing just because they're not rotated. I've got 26k on my front Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s and the tread is wearing evenly without any rotating.

*facepalm* yeah take it back, this is incorrect, these cars' tires cannot be rotated.
they have staggered tires AND wheels (18x8 front, 18x8.5 rear) from the factory!

Yeah I'd take the car back, tell them to swap the fronts and rears again to have the 255's on the back

Also, never go back to that shop again..

It wasn't a Lexus dealsership was it???

I guess they rotated it for you like you requested lol! Bring it back to get it back to normal with the 255s in the rear. Like mentioned earlier staggered setups can't really be rotated.

We see this a lot with tire shops and end up fixing it for customers. Yesterday I had one in that was a '15 and had 255/35/18's on the rear (correct) and 255/40/18's on the front (clearly not correct). I was like, how did they miss that??

Curious to see how a staggered front wheel set-up looks like in person lol
