Default Is350 engine in is250 body ?

Hi Lexus fans. So we all know the corbon build up with is250 engines. Is it possible to drop a is350 engine in 250 body and connect it to 250 tranny ? Thank you

It will physically fit and bolt up. There are various electronics differences though. Especially on 2006-2008 models.

Is your car and automatic or manual?

It's auto . It's nothing but problems. The other day check engine light came on with vsc light ... I read about it ,just wish I knew more before I bought this car . Too many issues thinking bout cutting my loses and trading it in.

Not worth the squeeze. Better off buying a 350 and selling the 250.

It all depends on the car. I just got a 08 350 end of March. Bought it on Lexus/Toyota dependability. I’ve driven 5400 miles and the motor is clanging away. Sounds very bad. Haven’t gotten it open yet to see what’s going on. 134K. On it. Back to driving my old dependable Chevy truck with 200k.

Wow Pete , that sucks man . Sorry to hear that. I heard 08-13 is350 we're more dependable, I guess not. I love these cars but , sometimes it's just too much. Honestly, I'm stuck with my car.

This is why doing a pre-purchase inspection is so important.
Also, OP so you owe 8 k on it. Big deal. Just take it to a dealership and finance the difference.

Nobody is giving me more then 2k .... I'll have around 6k slap on a new loan . Too much of negative equity . I was definitely thinking about it though.

Aside from increased carbon build up concerns, there are no additional maintenance or repair concerns with the IS250 vs. the IS350.

What issue are you having with the IS250 engine? If it is carbon related, pay a couple hundred dollars to have a walnut shell blasting done on the intake and don't worry about it for years. It's really not a huge cost.

Any other issue you've got could just as easily happen on a 350.

Thanks Jeff , appreciate your imput . Well I had the shop I go to , do a carbonbuild up clean up done. I guess it's something that gets spray in the engine and white smoke comes out of exhausts . Also my mechanic told me these cars are meant to be driven hard .So sometimes on a straight away , I let it go . Other then that I just replaced both rear Axel's , front lower control arms with bushings, front and rear struts , alogment done, front tires changed , have an hospital exhaust on it with a kn cold air intake .

Not the same clean up for this car. The build up is really bad and must be sand blasted with walnut media. It’s a known issue and I believe there was a TSIB that involved removal of engine and the head to clean up on cars that had it bad.
