Default HKS VS RR-Racing Supercharger

HKS SC costs 5k and yields 360whp with stock intake header exhaust

RR-Racing costs about 6.6k and gets you 390whp but you need a 93octane gas, header and exhaust.

so which do you think is the better buy here?

I would get the RR Racing, I don't think you could put a price on the support you get from Rafi!

where are the dyno results for the HKS SC? It’s not even tuned.

If the OP meant this kit:

https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produ...arger/db/10810

It's discontinued (scroll to the bottom).

If you really want to find out what it will take to actually produce the OP's results for the HKS kit, dig up and read through HKS350's posts. AFAIK, he was the only CL member that ran the HKS supercharger kit, and much of his experience was documented in here. Let's just say that it wouldn't be easily duplicated.

As I recall, there was a post of someone making 368 with belt slip and having to use meth/water injection to get that power.

Here are the differences between our kit and the HKS:

(1) We use the largest Rotrex blower -- C38-92. At our current stage 1 level of power, we can still upgrade the pulleys and make more power.
(2) We use a tensioner on the SC belt, I am fairly certain HKS does not, the SC is simply clamped down with the belt tight. This is a bad practice and results in belt slip and the need to constantly make adjustments.
(3) Our SC comes with an OBD tune, and a user tunable fuel computer. This allows the user to make easy real-time fueling adjustments, and gives enough fuel capacity to run more power for future upgrades.
(4) We use a much larger intercooler core.
(5) We use a much larger and more expensive blow off valve (Turbosmart "big bubba"). This is essential in order to reduce stress on the drive belt and SC for long term durability.
(6) and most importantly, our supercharger comes with our full support -- we are always available to help with install questions, tuning questions, or troubleshooting... try getting that support from any other company!

Just a little update. Our 2gr-fse Supercharger kit is now making up to 445whp (STD correction) 438whp (SAE correction):

I assume your mean "is now making..."?

BTW, congrats!!! What additional mods were added onto this setup to reach those WHP figures? I assume a set of PPE headers at least?
