Default Bass **** RJ45 to RJ11 coupler/adaptor

Hello,

I recently switched up my system and I noticed on the new amp the bass **** uses RJ11 (telephone cable) while my old amp uses CAT 5 (LAN cable). I was wondering if im able to use a RJ45 female to RJ11 female coupler/adaptor so that I dont have to run new lines and replace my bass ****.

Will the coupler./adapator cause any issues?

The wiring order may be different between the two. Cat5 will have 4 twisted pair. Do you know how many conductors that the old **** has in it? Rj45 can be ran straight thru or crossover style. But you may be able to retro fit the ends if the existing wiring has 4 pair.

Oh just read it again: you’ll have enough conductors to just splice the new ends to the cat5. Just match it up on each side and youll be fine. Or try to use the cat5 as a pull wire put I doubt that it will pull that easily.
