Default New Fuel Pump - Low RPM Misfire - Codes P1277 and P0302

So I’m a bit stumped again. I changed my fuel pump assembly as my car wouldn’t start and now that it runs, it misfires!

Codes
- P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire
- P1277 - not sure what this is, but Google leads to injector 2 issue

heres the scenario:
- Car ran fine with no issues and then wouldn’t start
- Took off the intake manifold to check for any problems with fuel pressure sensor, all was fine
- Replaced fuel pump, cranked right up but now misfires with the above codes
-Misfire is only below 3000 RPM or very light load
- I can hear the new fuel pump, seems like it’s “whistling” and a bit louder than my original

Replacing the pump tomorrow but anymore leads by anyone? I can’t imagine my injector going bad after it worked perfectly fine.

What engine? Replaced pump in the tank w an oem pump or aftermarket?

Sounds like it may be time to pull the intake and retrace your steps. And perhaps verify that code. Squirrel in the trunk acting as cylinder #7??

Measure resistance to injectors on cylinder 4, and 6. Then compare to cylinder 2 injectors. There is either a bad injector, or the wiring to it is damaged somewhere.

Looks like I have code P1277 as well, just checked the injector, looked fine, will measure resistance in the AM

Ok, this somehow has come up again, exact same codes. Last time I just removed and reinstalled the intake manifold. Maybe injector 2 or a leak in the manifold?

Pull the spark plugs. Perhaps a leaky VC seal leaking oil down onto the plug?

Changed all plugs, didn’t see any oil on any plugs.

my guess now is #2 port injector is clogged/faulty since direct injection injectors are only used at higher RPMS.

Not true, direct injectors can run at anytime. cold, hot, WOT. the only way to be sure is to perform an injector way test to see what injection way is the culprit.

Long time lurker, finally signed up as I've been running into some problems with my 2006 is350.
Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I'm having similar symptoms, although I took it apart and replaced fuel pressure sensor along with spark plugs, now I'm getting multiple codes including P1277 among them.. My car starts up fine, revs above 1000 rpm on start, but after 20-30 sec when it comes to idle it sputters/misfires and then dies.

I'm getting all sorts of codes now including: p0020, p1277, p1279, p127b. I'm stumped, anyone run into anything similar?

p0020 = Camshaft "A" Actuator Fault (Bank 2)
p1277 = Cylinder #7 High To Low Side Open
p1279 = Air Fuel Ratio Sensor 1 Bank 1 Circuit Slow Response
p127b = Aborted Engine Start

Sounds like during the fuel pressure sensor install that something on the passenger side (bank 1) was knocked loose or "cut". Check the connectors to the cam position sensors and ensure the pigtails leading to the sensors are all intact.

Report back on your findings.

So here is an update, I ended up having a vacuum leak coming from the intake plenum, which is now fixed.
The only code I'm having now is the p0020, I ordered the two replacement solenoids for bank 2, waiting for them to come in later this week..

New symptom though, not sure if it's related to the camshaft solenoids.. When I try to apply some moderate acceleration, the car goes into limp mode and I get p2112.

Little background: when I was going in to replace the fuel pressure sensor, I took off and cleaned the throttle body (140k miles). Little did I know, apparently opening the valve by hand is a no-no. Anyway, I now have a new TB installed, but it still throws me into limp mode with moderate-high acceleration (anything over 3000k RPM more or less). I've been researching and it might be due to the camshaft solenoids, I guess I'll find out later this week when I replace them.

I do this quite often but you have to be careful opening and closing the butterfly. Fortunately, I haven't had one fail on me yet.
