Probably first culprit is the stop light switch located behind the brake pedal. It's the plunger type switch which activates your brake lights.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for your response - however I did the regular press down and release of the brake pedal and each time the brake lights came on and off respectively:
I am afraid that the step light switch might not be the culprit - or what do you think because actually sometimes at startup the check VSC warning is totally not on until I start moving.
Really troubling seeing the regular red blaring warning.

Hello Mike,

Sadly I live in a country where I couldn't get a direct brand new replacement - still searching but thinking I might need to buy one from Ebay or something and have it shipped into Nigeria - can you help with the exact part number.
So I don't end up buying something I cannot use.

Thanks

There's two part numbers for the switch. I'm not fully sure what's the difference. You might want to check it out first before ordering.

Hey Mike,

So I swapped my switch with that a friends IS250 and its same experience as I had with mine - this is my observation - the blaring red triangle comes on if i step on the brake for more than 5 seconds - as long as I keep it below that I won't have this error - what do you think the problem is?

Thanks for your help so far.

C1380 is more specifically related to the stop light relay than the pedal switch, that said there are a few items that could cause the code.

I would recommend checking the stop light control (BRK-LP) relay operation. It is located in a small relay block on the driver's side up near the firewall.

ok Jeff - would check the basics of testing a relay and test it when I get home tonight.
Not really happy about it.

Thanks Alot.

Hello Jeff,

Had the relay replaced with one from my friends IS250 - same issue:
VSC blaring warning still comes on when I step on the brakes for more than 10 seconds.
Can you please help me further please - i am frustrated.

Thanks

Default 2006 IS350, check engine, check vsc, exclamation point triangle and traction symbol

Hi guys!

I started having this problem today. Is it safe to drive my car with these messages for a couple of days or should i get it checked out immediately? Everything else on my car is working fine.

I've read a few different posts and recommendations regarding this these lights but i have not had a chance to get it to my mechanic and on a scanner.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
