Default Firm steering wheel after changing alternator

I recently got a new battery and alternator after my alternator stopped working twice while I was driving. Now, the steering wheel feels a bit more firm than before? Does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it? I read on here that the power steering ECU needs to be calibrated. Anyone with a similar experience know what to do?

??? Been on these forums for over 10 years, didn't even know there was a thanking option. Must be new since it's been years since my last post.

The 2nd gen IS has electric power steering. That's why it stops working when the battery is depleted due to an alternator failure, and the reason why there is no power steering pump or belt.
