Hi Guys,
I had a hard time following the Wheel Index thread above...looks like I'm a little over my head on this..But basically I need new rims. I have a 2007 IS350 and I went to a tire/rim shop and they had all these rims that would fit and they test fitted a few and they all fit but some were 19's (I'm on stock 18's) and then I started getting worried about tire rub and this and that...
What is the stock numbers? Like 18x8 or 18x8.5 or whatever, and what is the offset? I want to search for new rims on Tirerack but they seem to give me the same size for both the front and rear and this being Staggered I want to make sure I'm getting rims that are as close to stock as possible..
Thanks in advance guys, sorry I tried to search but couldn't figure out what I was looking for!
Edit: Okay found something,
Front: 18x8 ; Offset: 45
Rear: 18x8.5 ; Offset: 50
Can anyone confirm?
Stock information:
16" RWD (Canada/non-USA Only):
Front and Rear: 205/55R16, 16x7 +45mm
17" RWD:
Front: 225/45R17, 17x8 +45mm
Rear: 245/45R17, 17x8, +45mm
17" AWD:
Front and Rear: 225/45R17, 17x8, +45mm
18" RWD :
Front: 225/40R18, 18x8, +45mm
Rear: 255/40R18, 18x8.5, +50mm
I think I found all the info, nvm

you are correct in your findings:
Front: 18x8 ; Offset: 45
Rear: 18x8.5 ; Offset: 50
if you are upsizing, 19s are a good option but if you stick to 18s I would go a bit wider, tire and rim in my opinion.
if the wheel shop is unable to help you, or they are not sure, I suggest you go to another wheel shop.
these cars are pretty common, and just looking at the wheel thread you can see the different setups available.
tire rack is a great website to help you size things up properly.
remember fitment also changes when you introduce a lowered ride height.
if you stay stock, it simplifies things, but our cars look tons better lowered.
