Do this - Remove BOTH the transmission pan and the transfer case pan. You'll see 2 very distinct and different oil colors.

take a look at pics On this pic part of the transfer case is ion the tranny You are looking at the transmission, with a the transfer case off. See on the left there is an opening so that the oil can flow through to the transfer case

The OP's first statement was its a flooded car. I'm assuming the car sat in deep water maybe getting into the vent plug?
If you look at any high milage transmission fluid ISX50 change the OEM is black. It pretty much looses the red tint shown on paper. Though it doesn't mean the fluid is bad by it's color.
