I'm about to go to a local dealership and buy a is250 manual. Do yall have any suggestions on things i should look out for about the car?

Being a manual, and all someone having fun with it. Make sure the clutch isn't slipping. As to why not just go test drive the car first, and ask questions later before purchasing?
If you have concerns about it.

I have one too
Pls find out if the MTF has been changed, if not pls consider getting it changed out.... Redline is the best
Know that this 6MT came out of a pickup and the flywheel is really heavy. It takes a lot of practice to shift smoothly
1st gear is way over torqued and many times I start rolling and shift into 2nd to get up speed. Overall its the worst MT I've had but comparing to a 300ZX, MGB, and Miata...that's tough comp.
ITs OK and it gives the 2.5 a lot more liveliness and you can actually save some gas once you figure out the best shift patterns. Also, not had any issues with carbon buildup, I think in part bc I rev the crap out of it.

We had our 2007 Lexus IS250 manual since new. Things to check are:
1. Make sure all the recalls are done (you can search the recalls pretty easily).
2. Carbon build up repair was done?
3. Rear brake caliper seized?
4. Sticky Dash and door panels?
5. Last clutch replacement (ours went out at 120K miles).
6. Check the tire wear. Stagger setup looks great but eats the tires really fast.
Of all the above, if the carbon build up repair was not done or if the sticky dash/door panels was not addressed, I would think twice before purchasing the car.

I agree w/above post
this is def Lexus/Toyota's most sketchy model.
I've had: dash replaced, air bags replaced.
No issues w/Carbon but its a matter of how its run.
I blv there are much better cars out there w/fewer issues
