Default What to look for in 2nd gen IS350

Hey guys I’m going to be in the market for an IS 350 here soon. I’ve had V8 muscle cars SRTs SVTs and I want to get something different. I am not familiar with Lexus but I love the IS350 it is high quality and is fast. What are somethings I need to look for ? I have seen some clean high mileage ones but how many miles is too many on these cars? I had a SRT 300 and don’t buy those if they have more than 60k miles lol.

Just need some some thoughts and input. I would prefer one with the luxury package with the nav and back up camera. I appreciate y’alls input!

There’s also the ISF if your budget allows.

If you think about lowering the car, the RWD seems to be the better choice. Those are lighter, faster and better on gas. Some owners have reported vibrations after lowering their AWD.

This will be my first winter with my is350 rwd. I don’t think it’s going to be that bad in the snow. I also own a few 4x4’s for the bad days.

Likely not going to find low mi ride for that price.
Personally never been a fan of sim wood grain so I went for the F-Sport.

I'd highly recommend it if you can swing it.

A garage kept ( and clearly never driven) 07 IS350 was for sale near me for 15,900. She had 13,000 miles. Simply amazing to see one with miles that low. I thought my 07 was low at 55k , but wow. You’ll find the perfect one for you and you’ll know it when you see it. Check for dash/doors and recalls , service records, etc. Also , the word you’re looking for is quick. Lol. The cars are quick, not fast. Jk

a lot has to do with luck. Lol
my is350 had all service records up to 100k, all recalls were completed. I purchased it with 128k on it and the motor went at 133k. Valve spring broke on the highway. Now I have a savage yard engine with 80k. If anything major goes used parts are reasonably priced. The way I look at it is the car is clean inside and out so it’s still cheaper than a monthly payment.

I won’t likely be able to swing a FSport and I don’t plan on lowering. I want to stick with the RWD. I will need something I can daily pretty easy and be able to take to the track or a show for fun. I’ve seen a few in my area with 100-150k miles for around 6-8k I’m still looking and I probably won’t buy till next year. My srt I had was pretty fast but that came at a cost. It had 34k miles on it 2009 model. I started having issues sturts went out. Brake calipers seized up. Oh by the way did I mention it was brembo brakes so yeah. Is350 seems like a good option for me.

Don't be scared about the ones over 100k if they are in good condition. I'm nearing 140k on my 08 and I canyon run aggressively with IS F and GS F's on a regular basis, once in a while drag strip, and push the car hard daily. I am the fifth owner and only "failures" (with easy fixes) I had were the alternator replacement, battery replacement, tires, brake pads, tachometer LEDs (easy fix), and nav screen (easy fix)

Very similar story with me actually. I'm just the third owner with now 125k miles from 31k. I've had the exact same issues as above, and even still, it's the most reliable and FUN car to drive DAILY (minus my 2000lb 400whp drag car, not a street car LOL!).
