Default How do YOU drive in Sport mode?

I am coming from 3 straight Hondas with manual trans (still have one-an 08 Fit sport) and the manual shifting mode is not intuitive, do you let rpms drop, shift while accelerating, or? Is there a recommended rpm range for shift points? Appreciate any info.

The paddle shifters are just gear limiters. Not actual manual shifters like found on the ISF.

I wasn’t thinking about the paddle shifters more the bumping the auto shifter up/down, which goes through all 6 gears?

Same thing. It's just a top gear limiter. You can use it to compel a downshift, but if you select a gear higher than what you are currently in the transmission won't shift unless/until the computer wants it to.

So I gather if I bump it down to 1st at a stop (should be there if auto put it there s mine does at all stops). Then take off, it will not shift into 2nd unless I bump it up, right?

Thanks for the replies, I haven’t gone to wide open throttle on the car yet. Or driven hard enough to make it shift higher in S mode. I will experiment next commute.

It's absolutely useless in these cars unfortunately, you just assume keep it in D. You'll end up bouncing it off the rev limiter before it'll actually shift into the next gear. I believe OrangeVirus was trying to tune the transmission but I don't think they got anywhere with that. If you want actual useful paddle shifting, you'll either need an F or a 3IS.

Yeah I was planning on driving like a manual without the clutch engagement in the city..

i need a need a way to to occasionally rev higher anyway from what I understand to prevent carbon buildup..

Eh, carbon will build up regardless of what you do. Put on an oil catch can and using a low NOACK oil will help a lot more than revving the car.

Sport mode with power ect most of the time. I just set the paddles
in 6th and let the right foot do the rest. I do have the “42” steering ecu
from the isf and that seems to help as well.
