Noise from the engine..
Hello, CL.
I’ve been hearing the noise from engine for a year. Although it hasn’t gotten any worse, it’s still present when the engine’s fully warmed up at idle. I’ve owned this car since 2016, and maintained it meticulously since day one. I personally don’t think it’s related to pully or belt, because i replaced them new OEM 2 years ago. I also sent my oil sample to blackstone labatories a few month ago, it turned out my oil is clean and doesn’t show any indications the engine has issues; It doesn’t have driveability issue either..
Any thoughts?
Here is the link.
Thank you ^^

Don’t want to scare you but I had a very similar noise. It was my first IS350 didnt know much about them and just thought it was the pump noise. Turned out to be a broken valve spring. Ended up dropping a valve. I had no drivability issues car ran and idle just fine until it let go. The valve spring recall was completed by Lexus. Car was still under a 6k warranty from the dealer I bought it from. They ended up putting a salvage motor in it. No more noise.

Sounds like the valve noise they did a recall on: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...0V309-0123.pdf
You can look up your VIN here and see if your vehicle is affected: https://www.toyota.com/recall

Thank you for all your comments.
I took it to a mechanic again. They couldn’t really point out where the noise is coming from but they believe its likely the exhaust leak. Nevertheless no check engine lights on..
I am not sure if i should change the weight (viscosity) of oil. I’ve been using only 5w 30 full synthetic.
I am still stuck

I can hear the HP fuel pump thump (it's at 1/2 engine rpm) and the DI's firing. Beyond that it sounds pretty normal.
Suggest you take either a stethoscope, long wood dowel, or a long handle screwdriver and place it along the top of each piston making a pass near the outside (exhaust) and near the inside (intake) once you hear the thump of the pump and the DI's firing, you can weed out other noises. Yes, the intent is you place the other end in your ear!
Feel free to listen to the Alternator and AC compressor, water pump, pulleys, etc.... Remove the drive belt and start it if you can't weed out items spun by the crank. Limit runtime to 2 to 3 minutes with belt off.
With the right tool you can probe down low by the oil pan too. There will be some noise....

Also place device right on the the exhaust manifold, you will be able to tell if one sounds different.
For leak detection, place a long tube up to your ear and point the open end at suspect exhaust leaks. The tube will allow you to ignore other noises and pinpoint specific areas. A couple of paper towel tubes taped together work in a pinch or roll something up yourself.

Mine sounds pretty similar to this. I test drove my brother's 2006 IS350 w/ almost 200k miles and his engine sounds much smoother than mine. Mine is a 2012 with 62k miles. He doesn't have that deep sounding tick/rattle on idle or acceleration. Did something change in between the years? (Mine is a F Sport his is a Luxury). It sounds like it could be a pulley, did you replace all of yours?

I’m pretty much done with solving this issue.
All the shops i brought my car in to said i shouldn’t worry about it since i’m not experiencing any driveability issues.(yet)
