Average below freezing temperatures here in the midwest today when I went for a drive in my 120,000 mile 2006 IS350. The car was warmed up and I gave it some gas. Goes through first, second, and then sits at redline for far too long until it finally drops into fourth gear. I was pretty concerned, so I got the IS up to a speed where I know it will be forced into third under full power (~50mph). I floor it, it drops into third, and just begins to slam the limiter with no acceleration whatsoever until I let off and it goes into fourth gear. Felt like third got replaced with neutral. The car has decent mileage and I've done some spirited driving for quite some time, but I'm still very confused at this point because I would rarely ever push third gear anywhere near as hard as first and second, and yet they are fine.
I get back home and after letting the car cool down, I decide to go see if I can recreate this problem. I go into reverse to back out of my driveway and get absolutely nothing. Give it power and it continues to sit as if it's in neutral. Once again, reverse was always driven carefully and never pushed hard. Apart from reverse and third, the car operates normally.
Did I hit the lottery and blow two gears in one day or could an external issue be causing my transmission issues? Thanks in advance for the advice.

I’m new to the club thanks for the heads up bro . Yah well basically lost 3rd and reverse in the same day. With no cel .so was trying to see what code dude had gotten so that it can narrow down the search on what exact solenoids I need to replace.

The link below goes into detail and is worth a read. I know you're saying you don't have codes, but even if you did, the solenoids are only the messenger and there is so much more to than reading a code and swapping parts.
The solenoids MUST be tested, as too many other things can be wrong. Most of which can be tested if one takes their time.
People replace when codes come up and its hit or mostly miss and here is why. The code pop up because the ECU issued an action to select solenoids. The speed of the input and output shafts tell the ECU if gear selection was completed successfully. If not, it throws a code pointing to the solenoids responsible for an action. It does not mean they are actually bad. It's saying, I talked to you last and your team didn't complete its mission. It's the only thing the ecu knows.
