Default Push Button Replacement/Issue

Hey all,

I am new to the forums, just picked up an 06 IS350, and am loving it. She runs great, I am having 1 issue that I need your guys' help on. I am wanting to perform a replacement of my push start button due to the following reasons:

- My car Intermittently cranks, starts, and IMMEDIATELY dies.
- no other symptoms or issues, once started she drives like a dream.
-no driveability issues, pending CELs, or ECU/PCM issues.
-Battery has been replaced both in FOB and under hood.

After NO ONE being able to figure out what was going on with my car I did some research and found LEXUS TSB L-SB-0161-06. Which describes my problem to a T.

So I placed an order for a brand new start button with the newest revised part number. My question is this- is the push button start cylinder just pried out using plastic trim tools? No forums posts on its removal, nor anyone stating they have fixed my issue on their own. Only saw youtube videos of gen 3 push button removal for TRD button.

Please help! And before i get bombarded with "use the search function" I did and have found nothing, hoping you guys can help! Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey I know this is a dead thread but wanted to post what my fix was to this issue in case any other ISers are having this issue. So this turned out to be a bad push start button there is a TSB by Lexus for this see link below. The TSB exactly described my symptoms and also my VIN fell in the affected range. I replaced by old push button with new part number 89611-30025.

This fixed the issue and was a 5 minute swap at most.

You might ping one of the moderators and change the thread title to something like; replaced push button, resolved no start, stall immediately after start... something like that.
