2008 Lexus IS250 Awd rear axle vibration?
Only happens here and there but when accelerating feels like the rear end shaking then decelerating and accelerating it goes away. Any ideas? Just had wheels balanaced and newer tires and new rims just put on.

Is there any crazy reason the drive shaft (trans to diff) ever came out? Like the carrier bearing was replaced?
A driveshaft that is not indexed properly can make some interesting vibes about 35/40mph. This does have a splined section and if someone had it apart.....
Unlikely. Just throwing it out there.
Can you feel the vibe in the seat and steering wheel or just the seat?

I’m not 100% if the previous owner would of had it out or not..didn’t feel it when I bought the car. I was reading some other forms, some people are saying maybe could be driveshaft needs balanced or transmission could need replaced. Which I know it’s sealed but some people replaced anyway. I did have the rest axle shafts replaced about a year and a half ago. Maybe something related to the axle shafts?

Believe it or not.... Seized rear caliper. All other options, "bent driveshaft" = don't know how this was suggested, bearings, and wheel balance should have constant symptoms. However, a seized caliper will move from time to time when you press the brake. If not working correctly, it will start to heat up the pad(s) and you feel that as a vibration because the metal expands when heated.Next time you feel the vibration, pull over, go to the rear wheels, and try to find a smell for hot brakes. If the small is there, your caliper needs replacement. *Preferable the one on the driver’s side.

Did you ever figure it out?!
Hey did you ever figure out your problem with the rear end vibrations?! I have an 07 AWD that has a vibration coming from the rear when making turns especially turning right, I had some axles bad so I got all 4 replaced thinking it would solve the problem but it’s still there but not as bad as before 🫤🫤 can’t really figure out what it is

I have a 08 awd and have the same issue but after checking on both sides of the rear the right side axle have a lot of play in the inner bearing of the cv joint. Remove it and inspect and saw the bearing was rust and clunking, this might be the issue so I'm gonna either try to remove the bearing and replace it although it has a factory seal that is hard to open or replace the entire cv joint axle and see if it works.
was this your problem? The axle seals? Mine has a lot of vibrations too from the rear end and it’s leaking from the axle where it goes into the differential was just wondering if it had fixed your vibrations?

That grease pattern flung to the body and beat up flange, it looks like a hack repair that possibly damaged the axle seal?
You have some things to look at. The axles will move slightly in the rear diff. Thats not unusual.
To replace the axles and fix rear seals, drop the exhaust, the two braces under the axles, driveshaft flange bolts and the 5 bolts holding the diff. Lower the diff, pop an axles free. Spin the diff and pop the other. Lower it the rest of the way.
Do a search. It's much faster to drop the diff than to pull the suspension apart. Search for some of my other posts or look in my build thread.
