hello i was wondering if it was possible to convert a 3IS steering wheel on a 2IS.

 

It is possible, however the controls on the 3IS steering wheel are not directly adaptable to the 2IS interface. In my opinion, if you're looking for a newer style steering wheel that should be a more direct fit, look to the CT200h.

Funnily enough, I recall reading Jeff's post about it years ago. He posted a little photoshop of it along with the pins and what they were for, some wiring and it'd work. The issue would be the cost of the airbag probably. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-in-is250.html

 

Haven't done it yet, but it's still on my mind for a bit of an update when I get around to updating the car again.

i really like the newer steering wheels especially the is model 2014+. really wanna try to convert it but dont know if it would even work.

 

Or you could just get a nicer flat bottomed aftermarket sport steering wheel. Feels better than the Fsport and you can keep all the current buttons.
