What would the calibration service cost? It would be great if there was a list of known members with Toyota Tec stream experience in a given region of the country, who may be able to assist, if unable to bring to a dealership!
+1 for this. I am interested but not sure how to proceed.
I also have techstream but not sure how to go about the process.

I just posted in another thread, even if everything is on the up with valid equipment, make certain the battery stays above 12.2 v or the process can fail.

Thank you primavera for adding the link; My thoughts on installing an ISF Steering ECU https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ering-ecu.html
The following replies from that link were helpful (please see replies further below)
I also came across the following link;
2012 Steering ECU Retrofit (2010 F) - CL Member removed ECU from 2010 IS F (part 89650-53040) and installed part 89650-53041 (2011 - 2012 IS F);
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...it-2010-f.html

Installation: This was pretty straightforward and the easiest part of a rather stress-free process. It involves removing the battery and battery tray, which reveals the steering ECU just beneath it (images below). You then have three bolts and three connectors to remove, before pulling the ECU and reversing the process to install the new one. No additional parts or any modifications were necessary.
Calibration: I purchased mine new, so it didn't provide any assist out of the box. It's possible other steering functions could be affected, so for this very reason I'd highly recommend doing this at your dealer or somewhere you can get access to a Techstream and/or a person who knows what they're doing. I happened to be at my dealership with one of the awesome techs willing to volunteer his time. He plugged in the laptop and had to clear a few aspects of the cars memory, before going through a process detailed in the software. This involved an illumination of the steering dash-light (which was normal), some manual 90 degree turns and centering of the wheel, a period of steering "vibration" (wheel turns itself under computer control), and a nice confirmation to signal all went well. It really is a simple step-by-step process where you read instructions and just hit "next".

Replies from My thoughts on installing an ISF Steering ECU;
Reply #37 - Got my ECU a couple days ago and installed it but couldn't get Techstream to initialize it so I have an appointment in one week at the stealership. Can't wait to get it in and running.
Reply # 40 - 2 things: 1) Since you are installing the new ecu, you will have codes, something like these: C1515 Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Undone & C1525 Rotation Angle Sensor Initialization Undone. You must clear all the codes before you can able to program the ecu which is the EMPS submenu. 2) Your VCI knock off cable might not have enough juice to program the ECU, you might see initialization and connection lost messages. In this case, just get the real deal cable or bring your car to the dealer.
Reply # 63 - So tomorrow I have a 2011 ISF Steering ECU coming in (part number 89650-53041), but my local Lexus dealer doesn't want to calibrate it because its a non OE part. I don't have Techstream and I don't have the proper cable. @Yamehoo , can you help me with this? I'm going to be in Socal next week, arriving on Wednesday. If you have some time, either next Thursday or Friday I can swing by. Let me know if that is OK with you
Reply # 69 - The service manager actually got back to me last night by email and they will do it...for $434! He said no warranty, if for some reason it doesn't work I will still owe the money. For a 10 minute job. I think that's their way of saying we don't want the liability. I don't think all dealerships follow this path, as I've heard a few members had it done at a Toyota dealership for $150. Anyway if you can find a used one I would go that path, but 2011 and on are hard to find used
Reply #76 - Side note, I heard back from a local Lexus dealership (still waiting for Toyota's response):Good morning, as you might already be aware, the power steering ECU and steering gear assembly work in conjunction with each other. This is indeed an unusual request and it might simply not work. As long as you are aware that we are willing to try and initialize the torque and angle sensors for you, providing you sign off on liability and warranty issues that might arise from the work. We will try to accommodate your request and let you know if the computer allows for the combination or not. Hope this helps. Regards, Shop Foreman
Reply # 99 - Calibrating the new EPS ECU with Tech Stream - https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...BSd2Y3YXhiSnRB
Reply # 118 - All of them are compatible (convertible may not be ??). If used, no calibration needed, if new, calibration is needed @ the dealer or w/ somebody who has a legit copy of techstream.

I understand pricing will fluctuate from region to region however, what would be approximate pricing for the Dealership to perform the recalibration of the NEW ECU after installing, as well as approximate time to for the Dealership to complete the process (once the service itself begins)?

not sure if pricing given the current economic conditions, but it took the lexus dealer about 15 minutes to complete. It may have been even faster than fhat… this was for programming a 2012 lexus is-f steering ecu module into a 2008 lexus is250.

Thank you. Did you make the Dealership aware that you had installed the ECU and just needed it to be recalibrated,and it was performed with no additional questions etc.?

yes, and I paid $145 for them to do it. This was many years ago. At first the service people didn’t know what I was referring to. But then they went back inside and talked to some specialist there and he came out and knew what I was talking about and did it right then and there in a few minutes.

Understood and thank you for posting the additional details. I appreciate it! Dealership quoted $150, and stated the service would take approximately an hour. I became more familiar with what is involved with calibration process from the following;

ISF steering ECU Mod (unsure if newer TechStream software version exists than what was used in the videos shown. So I assume process may vary);
