IS 250 is it worth it as first time Lexus?
I have seen but not driven a 2006 Lexus IS 250.
I have always liked the look but the $$ has not been right. Now the $$ is right, but I wamt to get a feel for the car, so I thought a 2006 might be a good entry level?
I then heard that it has some issues with knocking and the injectors stick.
does this mean that it only will take Premium Unleaded? And is this the car for entry level after all? The cars have between 90,000 and 150,000 km on the clock.
thoughts anyone?

The 350 will make you happier.

If you even were to consider modifying the 250 for power in the future, the IS350 stock will pretty much have more power than full bolt ons for the 250.
I went 350 over 250.

This tread is a few months old so my opinion probably wont matter for you but for others. as what everyone else said get a 350 instead of a 250. i never been in a 250 but i assume it is similar in feel and comfortably to a 350 just not as quick. the mpg is slightly less but i dont think itll be much of a difference. there no issues like the carbon build. and just stand out from the rest. most 2is you see in the street are 250. all for like $1k-$3k more in my opinion itll be more worth it with the smiles youll be getting while accelerating. but that is if you dont mind only getting an auto. if you want a manual then idk what to tell you since i dont know anything about driving manual

Here is my take: it depends on your budget and how much one wants to spend. You can get a reasonable mileage good condition 2007 thru 2014 IS 350 between $18 and $26k. An IS 350 is going to be a better choice due to a much better engine. I bought my 2010 with 52k in September for $19k, although finding a 2010 IS 350 with that low mileage was a stroke of luck, but not impossible (it now has almost 54k)
