Thanks. Neither end is secured by a clamp. How would I remove the hose? I tried tugging it but the thin metal hoses it's Attached to started creaking. Do I just keep tugging it is there a trick?
Good call Mike. OP, disregard my first response, it looks like you'll have to replace the entire 23902 assembly, as that rubber hose is one part. However, I'd suggest bringing it into a mechanic at this point since you're dealing with fuel lines. Also, it's not just cracked, seems like the hose is slightly twisted.
That said, If it were me and assuming getting to the hose assembly wasn't too difficult, I'd pull the EFI fuse so that the fuel lines can be cleared, let the car run until it dies. Then replace that assembly. Put fuse back and start it back up. If one can get to that hose assembly within an hour or so, then taking it to a mech wouldn't be so bad costwise.
Thanks for the information. I think I might have cracked the hose while doing the spark plugs. I do remember having a wrench touch that fuel line. I was thinking why is this hose in the way. But then again, it wasn't as if I was smacking the rubber multiple times. And yet the rubber has pretty much completely cracked through. Maybe flexing the fuel line assembly slightly caused that. Oh well.
It looks like I'll have to remove the intake manifold to get to the line. I've never dealt with removing an intake before but I don't expect that to be too hard. I've also never dealt with fuel lines before. I guess a flare nut wrench will be needed? I'm looking at the pics of the assembly and I don't see how I could disconnect the lines. There looks to be some sort of fitting here but I've never seen one like it. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Would you think the car is safe to drive with this issue?
