Default Key fob with extra ...

Hi,

Recently I bought a Lexus IS250. The garage owner couldn't tell me what the extra "thing" on the key-ring is.
Anybody here got an idea?

Nothing that is significant. It is just a key holder.

It could be a keyholder, but (on the left) there is a button I can push. Not that it does anything, ....

Looks like a key fob to me. The button thing is probably just the rivet that keeps the folded part together.

Still have a bit of doubt, but I'll let it rest. I disconnected it from my key and leave it at home. We'll see what happens

If that round black thing was a button to operate something, then the mystery fob would have to have a battery in it. I have seen small keychain led lights about that size. Some you can open and change the battery, some are pure disposable.

It looks exactly like a key card i had at my old workplace minus the lexus logo, with a sensor inside. Maybe the previous owner was a Lexus employee?

Good thinking, now if someone comes up to your car and offers 100 Euro if you can produce a worn-out old and slightly disgusting old keychain, you'll be glad you didn't just toss it in the dumpster.
