How to Replace Front ABS Sensor Lexus IS250 2nd Gen RWD
This is to remove the front right active ABS sensor on a 2010 Lexus IS250 rear wheel drive (RWD).
Step 1. – Jack up car and removed tire
Step 2. – Turn steering wheel all the way right (optional – but is easier for access)
Step 3. – Remove sensor harness using small flathead screwdriver. Lift tab at bottom of sensor and pull back.
Here's a better view......
Step 3b. - Remove two of the hub assembly bolts at this time
Step 4. - Turn steering wheel all the way left - optional but easier to work with
Step 5. - Remove brake. I needed to remove the carrier in order to slide the break off, you can try without this removal. Hang break up, or just tuck it in the back. (Caution** the hose that supplies the oil will not reach the ground, so if your brake drops, you might damage that hose)
Step 5b. - loosen or remove the two other hub assembly bolts at this time
Step 6. - Spray some WD40 between hub and its attachment, leave for an hour.
Step 7. - Remove hub
Step 8. - Remove sensor
Step 11. - Replace brake housing - Tighten the two bolts -
Step 12. - Replace brake carrier - Tighten two bolts -
Step 13 - Replace tire. And your done.
Please help me out so I can enter the correct torque values.

Step 7. - Remove hub
- Reattach wheel and only loosely screw on all bolts. Now jerk the wheel by forcing the top in and out. Do this on all sides. Its going to be tough to do...just keep going until the hub pops off.
Step 8. - Remove sensor
- Do this sitting down with the hub between your legs on a concrete surface. Insert a small Flathead screwdriver between the sensor and hub
- With a bit of force hammer the flathead to separate the sensor. Go all the way around evenly so that it is removed straight out.
- Use a larger flathead and a crescent wrench to finish removal. Do the same as before, evenly around the sensor, twist the flathead using the crescent wrench for leverage.
- Place the sensor so the connection is between the narrower bolting holes.
- Gently hammer around the sensor to push it down evenly
- Use a flathead and hammer to finish the job, hammering on the lips of the sensor
Step 11. - Replace brake housing - Tighten the two bolts -
