Halogen headlight lenses on HID Afs headlight housing?
My driver side headlight got cracked but the inner housing and lights are in good shape. Since they are so expensive I was thing about getting a good shape halogen headlight and transfer the outer lense to the HID headlights I have.
Are they the same shape? Is either this or deleting the HID and installing a led converted aftermarket headlights.
That's not going to stop any water unless you're keeping it garaged. I thought I covered up mine pretty well when it got cracked and I still had water sitting in it which killed the ballast. I don't believe there are any differences in the actual lens, but you're most likely stuck just buying a headlight. I had to do it, and a used HID assembly ran me $250.

Are you indicating that one can buy the halogen shell and just replacde the busted up HID shell? Will this affect AFS?
Im asking because i need to change one HID light too. Not because it cracked but because it is super oxidized and I would like both sides to match (match being both clear and unoxidized ).

Have them refinished. If you don't want to DIY, I paid a local detailer to do it for $65 for both sides with a lifetime warranty. He wet sanded a few grits, then applied a few coats of UV-resistant clear coat.
