Starts, dies then won't crank
Hi guys I have a 2007 Lexus is350 with 150k miles on the clock. This morning the car started, ran for a second, died, then wouldn't crank at all. A few hours later I tried to start it and it did exactly the same thing: it started, ran for a second, died, then wouldn't crank at all. CEL is off, but I did a deep scan of all of the modules and found two codes: 'B1213 Tilt and Telescopic ECU Communications Stop' and 'B1271 Combination Meter ECU Communications Stop'. Anyone have any ideas?

Any recent work done? Obvious dumb question would be have you tried jumping it/testing the battery?
One thing could be the fuel pressure sensor. It's in the back of the engine under the throttle body. You may need to remove it to get access to it. Just unplug the harness and try to crank the car (may take more than one try). If it starts, you'll need to replace that sensor (do NOT drive the car with that sensor unplugged). Here's a DIY. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ml#post9759981 and https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...4V647-0774.pdf

Sounds like a fuel pump or fuel pressure sensor. Our fuel pump went out on our '08 IS150 right at 152k. Seems like that's the magic number. A couple of things to try: turn the car on without your foot on the brake and you should hear the fuel pump prime. If it's silent that could be your issue. You might also try spraying some starting fluid in the intake and if it runs for a second or two that points to your pump.
Edited to add: we ended up purchasing a used fuel pump assembly on eBay for $100 and popping out the back seat to install it. Took about 30 min.
