Default Fuel Pressure Sensor issue after getting car serviced

Hello everyone,

I recently (two weeks ago) got my 2012 Lexus IS 250 serviced at my local Lexus dealership. I had a fuel injection cleaning service as well as a mass air flow sensor replaced. My vehicle was running fine until this last Sunday it just wouldn't start. Didn't have any issues with the way it was driving or starting until then. I got it towed to the dealership and they are now telling me that they BELIEVE (not even 100% sure) it is my fuel pressure sensor and quoted me $1600.00 and some change to get it replaced.

I am wondering if it is at all possible that this could be a result of the the work they did two weeks ago?

I asked the service advisor how common of an issue this is on my car and he said he has only seen this be replaced THREE times on my make and model vehicle in the 11 years that he has been working there as an advisor. I am super skeptical and unfortunately feel like they just may be taking advantage of the fact that I don't have a ton of knowledge about vehicle maintenance...

I currently have 93,000 ish miles on my car and have always had it regularly serviced.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Here are a few threads I located after searching the fuel pressure sensor issue, it is a common problem:

Thanks Ninja,

I looked at those prior to posting this. My vehicle wasn't within the years of those that were recalled. Do you know if maybe it is a possibility that I am having issues with the sensor as a result of the work they did? I am wondering if maybe they screwed something up during the service.

It's now been in the shop for two days and since I questioned the service advisor, he said he would have a mechanic take a second look at my car and "do further research" to determine if that's really the issue or if maybe they "overlooked" something.
