IS350 Rear Spacer
Finally decided to get some spacers for my IS rears. I ordered 38 mm (1 ¼”).
I installed it this weekend and see that the tires are out of the wheel well by about ~1/4”. I wanted it to be just a tad inside, just like my SC. A 1” spacer would have been perfect. Oh well…
My SC has the tires flush to the rims due to its sidewall design - Sumitomo (the SC has a Rear 1.5” spacer – was chicken to get the same one for the IS, good that I did not), versus the IS where the tires are actually sit outside the rim – due to the tire design by Bridgestone.
It is recommended that a re-torque is done after 25 miles on both the spacer nuts and the tire nuts. The bolts in the spacer (that attach to the car) themselves need to sit flush and engage 100% (and it appears that they did not force fit the stud). I believe it recommends to do it twice.
A Torque wrench is a must on this kind of job, it should be set at 76 ft-lbs.
Lesson learned: Measure how much you want for your tire to sit versus the fender (with the tire!)
Safety: I used 2 jacks to lift the 2 sides. And I put in a stand on the rear differential to support the rear (slight pressure only not to carry the load). Be safe all the time.

Are those 8 or 8.5" rears and what is the offset?
My OEM stagger is:
18x8.5 50mm w/255 40
18x8.0 45mm w/225 40
Good info... thanks.
Speaking of jacking. These are PITA to lift. Drove it up on stacked 2"x6" for a jump start then jacked near LCA using a short 2x4" for padding, stands under A arms.
For the rear I jacked tie bar on the same tunnel support and placed stands under rear A arms.

The only concern I have is that if the supplier did not tap the bolt to make sure it bottomed out on the spacer. Hence I agree with the check and re-torque after 25 miles (good for a day trip for me. So today when I go home, I will take the wheel off and re-torque to see if it moves. And if I do not see any movement, I will check it again this weekend. If results are good, it is a done deal. That’s what I did with my SC’s spacers.

Ok, lesson learned, my 1.25" Spacer will not work with the IS due to the tire design (sidewall not flush with rims) they are rubbing. I will not roll my fenders.
Option 1: Purchase a 3/4" Spacer. 2: Shave the current spacer down to 3/4" this will cost money.
What to do with the current 1.25" spacer? Put it on the RX330 Rear!

Finally installed a 20 mm spacer in the Rear. Looks good. No rubbing. Will post pics later. Happy with it, for $36 a pair, can't beat it (delivered in a day - mazon). One thing though, I had to use longer lug nuts and fortunately I had 8 spare. Worked out good. For those who are thinking about spacers, be aware that you may need to buy new deeper lug nuts. Now I am near flush, unlike the first set up.

deeper lug nuts? like open ended lug nuts? I'll also leave a note: If you get ARP extended studs with a 25mm slip on spacer you can use your favorite aftermarket closed lug nuts

They are not the open lug nuts. They are just extended by 1/4" same OEM Toyota Lug Nuts just a tad deeper. I think they were spares from my RX or something, glad I had 8 of them, fits perfect.
