Default Spoiler install

I’ve read post about using 3M tape for installing an aftermarket spoiler that looks like an OEM but my spoiler keeps moving after a couple months. The tape will eventually get dirt and the adhesive won’t be sticky anymore. Yes when I install it, I make sure that I clean it with alcohol prior to when I put the spoiler on. What are other options that I can make the spoiler stay? I live in Minnesota and I’m slightly concerned when the snow comes and salt from the roads. Can I glue it on?

I used 3M tape on mine and after putting it on I just put a transparent silicone sealant around the edges to keep water and dirt from getting on the tape.
Its been 7 months and its still good.

Did you clean the underside of spoiler and the trunk? Also , are you using automotive or VHB tape, or just regular? I’ve had my spoiler and roof spoiler held on with tape for three years with no issues.

I've heard that some people have used automotive adhesive promoter on their 3M tape to attach it to their spoiler. I believe that they only applied this on the spoiler side and not on the actual car paint itself since it might ruin it? Not entire sure but that's what I've heard. From personal experience, I used Gorilla double sided tape that has held up quite well for the past month, been left in rain numerous times and taken up to speeds of 100 with no signs of peeling or "loose-ness". The most permanent solution you can go with is screws that you have to run from your trunk to the spoiler, then it will never come off unless you take it off.

I screwed mines in. I don't trust only 3m tape

I installed mine with 3M double sided tape the standard size in the dead of winter in my garage. It's been like 3 years of daily driving summer and winter months in Canada so it's been sitting out in the sun and the cold while i'm at work - not saying it doesn't budge at all but it's not going anywhere. Perhaps use a heat gun? Are you making sure to keep pressure on the spoiler for at least a minute or two while it's adhering to the surface?
