Bluetooth AVRCP version
#16
I have the same problem on my 2011 ISF with Mark Levinson NAV and pixel 2 xl. No metadata shown for song info when streaming through Bluetooth. I've tried all the different Bluetooth modes under developer settings.
Also sometimes the Bluetooth will take a long time to connect and makes the system hang until it connects or fails to connect sometimes this can take up to 5minutes so the whole stereo is unresponsive during this time. When it takes a long time I turn my phone's Bluetooth off to speed up the connection failure then it responds.
I believe the problem is with the pixel 2 xl because every other phone I've tried has worked fine. My friend with a brz and pixel 2 xl has all kinds of Bluetooth issues as well but his previous pixel 1 worked fine.

I have a pixel 3XL, was having a similar issue when i would be in and out of the car running errands, sometimes bluetooth would connect but nothing would play and spotify would crash. I changed the avrcp version to 1.3 and havent noticed any crashes lately.
When i was on 1.4 the metadata was a hit or miss depending on what i was doing on the phone when entering the car, I have a 10' ISF.

2013, IS-350 w Nav; phone SS S7, BT 4.2, A2DP, LE, aptX. Zero issues.
It surprisingly does calls, streams music/audible and runs Torque Pro / Fusion app via BT and rarely skips a beat.
It also plays well with apple products but I'm not around for that myself but hear no complaints!

Ok. Thanks for the info. Looks like our phone is the problem if others are working. Another person just said their Pixel 3 had issues with Bluetooth 1.4 and moved to 1.3. That fix doesn’t work us Pixel 2 owners.

I'm thinking others with this phone must have this problem too. Do you know if it even broadcasts the meta data? If no, maybe there are better apps that do? If yes, I wonder if someone makes a converter device that would interpret your Pixel BT data and re-cast in BT the car understands?
