I would like to get an oversized oil filter and housing for my 2007 IS250 RWD. I understand that is a bad idea because if somone other than myself changes the oil they won't know what to do but I change my own oil and I will mark the housing with the corect filter to use. there is no anti drainback in my stock filter/housing but I will need a housing that has the same blowby pressure, can anybody help me to find the correct housing and filter to use? Perhaps a filter and housing for an IS350?

I am 60 years old, back when I was in high school (over 40 years ago) a friend of mine's dad was some kind of bigshot at GM in st louis Missouri, and he told me oil filters were designed to be full at 2500 miles (not filter anymore) I ask him why and he said he didn't know. so I try to over size my filters in order to get better protection for my engine espicialy when they have higher mileage. Back then they (I don't know who they are) said to change your oil every 4000 miles. Todays oil is better but engines still ware.

If afraid of the filters not filtering mid-oil change, you can just replace the oil filter element. But after myself personally doing multiple 10k oil change (full syn Mobil 1 on OEM filters) intervals, I've had no issues whatsoever. I've decided to switch to 8k oil changes this time around. No reason why, still doesn't burn a drop and zero leaks.

Only at 87k mi. No leaks and no consumption.
That said, the tolerances on these engines are so much better they really don't make metal like they used too. If they do, something big went wrong.
I wouldn't worry about. Old school rules do not apply here.
