Default Alternative fix for sticky/melting dash- Coverlay Manufacturing

I know this topic has been beaten to death and many are still SOL because the warranty/customer support period has expired. I'm not sure if any one else has seen this but I found it from an RX owner who had a sticky dash issue.

The company is called Coverlay Manufacturing and they make ABS/Thermoplastic covers for many applications. To my surprise they have one for the 2nd gen IS in multiple color options.

Here's the link:
https://coverlaymfg.com/series-2-cov...Cmodel%3DIS250

They don't have door panel covers at this time. I contacted them and they said if they get enough inquiries, they will produce door panel covers for the 2IS models.

If anyone has used Coverlay on their IS, please let me know your experience with the product and if you recommend it or not.

For that cost you can buy a factory dash. I think dash covers look tacky. But to each there own.

Yup way to pricey. At that point but the dashboard and put in a day of work and swap it out

Do any of you know where the best place is to buy brand new door panels? I checked ebay but was only able to find used ones and I don't know how long those will last.

More expensive than a factory dash, so I’d probably pass. Looks okay I reckon.

I think it looks great, as long as the one underneath isn't off-gassing. I am going try the sticky dash fix product (seals the original) and if that fails, order this.

It is quite shocking how this happens. It is like some of the o-rings and gaskets I have seen that have been factory fitted. How they passed quality control is beyond me but I always put my trust in NES-IPS when I was purchasing replacements.

You are wasting your time with this overlay, just order the new oem dash for less than $300 and install it by yourself if you plan to keep the car. I just installed new oem dash for my friend 2006 is350 by just going over youtube for instruction and it took us about 5.5 hours to finish. The new dash he got from Longo Lexus btw.
