Has anyone tried a lightweight flywheel with SPUNG OEM clutch combo?
So, after limited feedback (and tons of research), I swapped in a Fidanza flywheel and Clutchmasters FX250 clutch. I'm not super happy with the combo, as the side effects are mildly annoying on a daily driver, mostly from the chatter at idle and transmission noise in some of the gears at low revs. (My impressions can be found here: Impressions
I'd like to somehow retain the performance of the lightened flywheel, without the added transmission noise and shudder annoyances that come with my current setup.
There's another post on the forum that identifies a sprung clutch that might be available for the IS250 Sprung Clutch.
I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried a set up that involves a lightened flywheel with the sprung clutch. I did not do the original replacement myself (I had to have the tranny rebuild, as previous owner had someone "rounded" the edges off 2nd gear...shop let me keep the parts), but I will probably be doing the work myself if I do decide to change the setup. Otherwise, has anyone been able to do a Single Mass Flywheel setup without the transmission noise and drive-ablity issues?
