So, what I thought was an error or problem is actually normal display of SOS in red on the button. Thanks for helping me clear this up because the manual was not a help. Obviously everyone but me seems to realize this is normal...Maybe I'm the one with the error...Oh well, never mind.

Regards.

An added tidbit. Not only does the RED LED flash, but when done (mine has no subscription), the green light on the other side comes on for a 500ms flash!

any resolution? Did you recently get serviced at the dealer? I recently had my software updated, something about ‘location services’ and now my red light is on and when I use my factory remote start, it sets off the alarm...

Default 3/28/2021 SOS Lexus safety connect malfunction

Recently my 2013 Lexus ES350 safety connect red light came on and my subscription has been active since I had the car. I took it into Lexus and they told me the malfunction was the backup battery for the safety connect system. It cost $650 to repair because that part isn't covered by warranty. The battery cost $300 and the labor is $350. If your red light next to the sos button is red there is a problem with your system. Take it and have it checked. It's free if you have a subscription.

Lexus refers to it as a Mayday battery.

To clarify, does this mean they will fix the red indicator light for free if you have an active subscription? My vehicle is out of warranty and the red indicator light has just started staying on after start up. Even though the indicator light is now red I used the SOS button and it worked & also verified that my service is still active until February. I can't see paying $650 or so to get the light to go back off, especially since they are discontinuing the service 10/22.
