Exclamation Who knew.... 2013 recall for stickies

I received a Customer Support Program notice to replace dash and door panels. Mine are black, in good shape minus 7 years of wear and tear. That said, I've never seen an interior scuff so easy so I might do it in the spring. Letter says I have until March of 2021 IIRC.
If they'd replace the peeling F-Sport steering wheel, that would be even better! I may call them on that.

I'll say that I didn't see this coming and because I plan to keep it for a while, a little refresh may not be the worst thing. If anyone wants the notice info, let me know.

I suggest you do it ASAP. I thought that this recall has been completed. You are the 1st to report that recalls are still being issued for these defective parts. Interesting. And yes, please scan and post the Notice...interesting.

Just an FYI....
Mine being 2013-03 sale date with a production date of 2012-11.

Technically this is a Customer Support Program #ZLZ which reads:
Primary Coverage until 2021-07
Secondary coverage is 10 years from vehicles first use.

Because it's not actually sticky it may not qualify. This is me, but I thought they fixed the issue before the car was made? Maybe not.

Anyone with a 2011 or 2012 have sticky dash and panels? I thought they realized this and fixed it by these dates.

Can someone who has had the doors done go into detail as to what all is replaced? Is it the whole panel top to bottom or ???

I have a 2010 and the dash is sticky. The only reason it got a few scuff marks on it. Is that I let someone use my car, and forgot to tell them to lift my windshield reflector up. Meaning they dragged it a few inches from the bottom of the windshield area to fold it. It's not really noticeable unless you really pay attention.

2021-09 and no sticky panels for a 2013 2IS... As stated above, hard to warranty it with nothing wrong. Although it is pretty soft and easily scratches...

Any 2012 or 2013 cars showing signs of stickiness?

I just got off the phone with Lexus, i was told ZLZ WARRANTY was extended till DEC 7 2022. I have a 2013 is 350 f sport. I got my appointment on Wed to go to dealer. My dashboard is in good condition but my drivers door panel cup holder part has the leather completely off. Hopefully everything gets replaced. Lexus should just have bit the cost and replaced all cars within the years affected with no questions asked.

my 2012 IS350 had a shiny spot on the dash this past summer (a couple months ago) and I immediately took it to the dealer so they could see it and document it ASAP.......they took photos and filled out the paperwork and sent it off to corporate.......a week later it was approved by corporate........they replaced all 4 door panels and the dash under the extended warranty free of charge....glad it happened when it did so it was covered......the new parts are a bit softer feeling to the touch and hopefully will last long term!

sorry, I did not snap a photo.....it was a very hot day and I had bought the car almost a year prior from a small dealer in New Mexico.....I would have thought it would have happened before with the heat in NM but I guess it didn't. Anyway, I was too focused on driving straight to the dealer so they could see it in the event it disappeared........I wrote a thread you linked below about my experience with Coverlay on my sons IS350 and knew what kind of pain this problem was/is.......I'm glad I got mine (2012 IS350) fixed for free.......they replaced the upper door panels and the dash.........I had to pay for my son's 2006 IS350 new OEM dash and it was something like $1,300 after not being pleased with the coverlay product........the upper door panels are almost impossible to repair (again read my thread and experience having them covered in "pleather").......I don't think they changed the materials in the 2nd gen for the dash and/or door panels and it will appear sooner or later!......I would take it to the dealer and convince the service manager to replace it all......it helps if you've been a customer with them already.......I used South County Lexus and they previously bought my 2015 RCF and sold me my F-Sport exhaust so they knew me.......maybe that made it easier for them to "convince" corporate to approve it....

We purchased a 2006 IS 250 from the original owner in 2018. One of the reasons we purchased this particular car was that it already had the dash replaced in 2016 and the door panels replaced in 2017.

We are now starting to see the replaced dashboard melt. Has anyone else had the same issue with the new replacement dashboards?

You might take it in and ask. Then call corporate if meet resistance.
