I see there are a few posts regarding DRLs but i dont see how i am unable to turn off the DRLs even with switch control inside car. I mean shouldn't off be off??? I sit and work on my laptop alot in my car and either run it with the car running with either the heat or AC but at night time, i stick out like a sore thumb and have my lights on that i cant shut off. I understand its a safety thing when driving but is there really zero way to turn them off/on by choice? Seems like a stupid design and i fail to understand the logic behind it.

the only way to be able to disable them is by going to the dealer either Lexus or Toyota and have them disable them. But there's many stories that they decline to do that for legal reasons that I personally don't understand why its such a big deal

You can disable them using laptop and Techstream

I was able to find a Lexus dealer service tech that allowed me to change that setting. He also said something about how he isn’t supposed to but did it anyways. The techstream software should be able to get you into those customer settings and configure them yourself
