Hello, new poster here in Alberta, Canada. I am a long time owner of a 2006 Lexus IS 250 MT, and I am looking to replace the manual transmission. All the options that have been provided to me are beyond the value of the vehicle, so I am trying to think outside the box and see if 2010 and later manual transmissions will fit into this 2006 model. I've asked a few shops and lexus dealers, and they ultimately just look at the VIN, look up the list, and say it will not work without being able to define what exactly is different. Researching the history of this transmission and these vehicles, etc. I'd be surprised if it couldn't neatly be placed into my 2006 car with little hassle. Looking at the parts, for example, the only difference I see is model numbers on the transmission case and subassembly (33101-53030 vs 33101-53050 and 33106-53010 vs 33106-53030).
Anyways, there are a few here who have hands-on experience with swaps and builds and/or have far more knowledge than I do as my mechanical knowledge with vehicles is limited, so I figured I'd ask this question, as the location of the transmission I have sourced is on the other side of the country, unfortunately.
Forgive me in advance if the answer to my question is obvious/apparent, any input is appreciated!

There are some differences with the manual transmission over the years, however they are inconsequential to the actual fit into the vehicle. Any year IS250 transmission will work without issue. 2009-2012 transmissions have some updates that help them shift a little bit nicer than the 2006-2008's.
