Default Fortune Auto 500 Series Coilovers? Opinions?

So Fortune Auto is currently running a no tax sale on their coilovers until the end of March. I was thinking of getting BC Racing coilovers but with no tax the Fortune Auto 500s aren't a bad deal. Let me know if these are a good option for a lowered but still comfortable ride without breaking the bank

Edit: If these are worth it, what spring rates should I be running? These would be for an 08 IS350.

Fortunes are great coilovers. Being that they’re made right in my back yard, many people run them here and they absolutely love them. Great warranty , rebuildable, and made here in the USA.

Which spring rate would be the most comfortable?

FA says their recommended 12K/8K is "perfect" for what I'm looking for (daily).

Higher the number , the firmer it is. I’m sure Fortune tried different spring rates before they settled on those for maximum comfort and in balance of performance.

I'm happy with mine, the only complaint I have is that they are squeeky every now and then, temperature dependent. Over the next few months I plan on swapping the original springs for Swift (same spring rates) and finish installing the Remote Damper Controller.

Did you get the default 12K/8K spring rates? My biggest concern is ride comfort. How do the FA 500s compare to stock suspension?

Yes I'm on the default spring rates. The car is a bit stiffer than stock, noticeably more in the winter when it is cold and I run 225 section winter tires. When it is warmer in the summer and I'm on 275/255 width summer tires and lower offset wheels (which effectively increases the motion ratio of the shocks and decreases the effective spring rate) it is only slightly stiffer than stock. If you are really concerned FA can put lower rate springs on and build them with the appropriate damping.

I have Fortune Auto 500 with the Swift spring option for 3 years with no problems. Their quality is great for their price (no need to spend $3K for quality). The part that sold me is that they are local and a very quick turnaround if a rebuild is needed. Definitely a tighter ride quality for the street setup I have but I love it. I cant stand the stock "floaty" ride quality. Added these together with the F Sport sway bars.
