Fumoto Oil Change Valve - Anyone use it?
I was just watching few U-tube videos as research for my future IS250 DIY service and came across a video that was done by a gentleman in Canada that goes by the moniker "Canadian Rider". He had installed a Fumoto oil drain valve on his IS250, which I think is a brilliant idea. He had nothing but praise for his IS250. I actually wanted to go out and buy another after watching his video even though I already own one. Just in case. You never know. Then I saw Scottie Kilmer do a video of another drain valve, that was made here in the US, near his home town, with a cap on it for added safety, which I thought was lacking in the Fumoto valve. The drain valve that Scottie Kilmer showed appears to have a check valve mechanism which I was not too crazy about, as opposed to a 1/4 turn ball valve. Check valves are notorious for failing after gumming up. But of course there is a cap which will prevent it from leaking out. But when you go to do the next oil change, the mess will be there when you uncap it to do it, which it was designed to prevent in the first place.
Has anyone used one of these on their IS250/IS350? Or any other car for that matter? Would love to her both positive and negative feedback.
Cheers.

Unless you do your own oil changes, many shops will not do one with the valve in place. I had it on my INFINITI and ended up removing it because of this.
They are a great idea and do work well.

Hey friend! Still rocking this oil valve and no complaints what so ever, makes changing oil so easy and effortless and no rust to speak of!

On some applications the valve itself would be more appealing. But I my opinion, the location and ease of access to the existing drain bolt makes it rather easy to DIY oil changes as-is. So yes, it's a little messy and slightly longer to unbolt the bolt to remove the oil; but I'd prefer that over worrying about an aftermarket valve leaking my oil out.

Looks like a $25 item...not sure how I feel about it since it seems pretty big hanging from oil pan and susceptible to damage especially lowered cars.
and also needs an optional $5 rubber cap (though its only worth $0.10) to keep stuff out of the spout.
